Mercedes-Benz released a new limited edition vehicle as part of their AMG brand, already known for its high performance. The SL63 AMG Edition IWC is only produced in a run of 200 cars in worldwide with 64 of them available in the United States. Along with the limited edition car, each buyer will be given a ‘Grosser Ingenieur’ watch. Translates it means Great Engineer. The watch is made by the Swiss watchmaker named IWC Schaffhausen. The pair will be available for sale beginning in the fourth quarter of this year.

One of the main changes this limited edition will boast is the designo Cashmere white paint complete with a matte finish. It is the first car with such a paint scheme made by Mercedes-Benz. The carbon fiber side air vents, lip spoiler and rear diffusers give the car a powerful and aggressive look. The designo Brown Premium leather sport seats are electronically controlled and have memory functions and heating systems built into them. The six point three liter, five hundred horsepower V8 engine is precisely engineered to output four hundred and sixty five pounds-per-foot of torque. The new AMG Speedshift MCT seven-speed transmission allows a skilled driver to take the car from zero to sixty in less than five seconds. The Active Body Control that Mercedes-Benz engineered gives the vehicle nimble handling and reduces the risk of rolling around corners.

The watch that comes with the car is also a limited edition: only those who take advantage of this partnership and buy the car will get their hands on one. The exclusive watch is built with stainless steal and is forty five point five millimeters across. The back of the watch is made with glass so the intricate mechanism is clearly visible. The ‘Grosser Ingenieur’ is designed to match the concept behind the design of the car it is paired with. The partnership between Mercedes-Benz and IWC Schaffhausen has been alive since 2004 when they revealed their first join project, the CLS55 AMG TWC Engineer.

A performance package is available as an option for the SL63 AMG. The package includes components that have even better performance and is designed for those customers looking for a sportier variant. One of the upgrades is an electronically regulated boost in top speed from the original one hundred fifty five to one hundred and eighty six. A vented front disc brake fifteen point four inches in diameter is also included in this package. A nineteen inch AMG twin spoke wheels constructed of light alloy as well as a sport steering wheel with built in shifter paddles can be added with this upgrade. Many other high performance parts are included beyond those listed above. With theses options the vehicle has a wide range of capabilities that the limited number of buyers will be able to choose from when purchasing this limited edition Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG Edition IWC. Those lucky enough to afford and get their hands on this car will have a car above most others on the market.
