The engineers at Heffner have created a twin turbo Lamborghini Murcielago which develops 1100 bhp. Taking into account that a Murcielago that leaves the Sant'Agata factory has about 580 bhp the power increase is absolutely amazing. The car is so powerful that it has grip problems, so the 0 to 60 mph and 0 to 125mph times haven't been announced yet. Although this grip problem is a major issue when starting from a stand still, the Heffner engineers have announced that the 60 to 130 mph time is just 5.1 seconds. Taking into account that this time was obtained with the 950 bhp version, the extra 150 bhp of the high-performance model should reduce that time by 0.2 - 0.3 seconds.
The grip problem is caused by the fact that the supercharged Murcielago has been converted to rear wheel drive in stead of the four wheel drive standard. The Heffner team has to tweak the traction control system of the car to harness the horse power produced by the V12 twin turbo power plant. Another way of harnessing the power would be to create a more resistant four wheel drive system which can handle 1100 bhp.
The American's at Heffner have announced that they haven't finished developing the Murcielago and they promised that they will make numerous changes to the supercar until they will be happy with the finished product.
