AMS Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X
An american tuner has created a tuning kit for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X. The model is currently under development but AMS says that more powerful versions are to be expected.
The creatorsa of the most powerful Lancer Evo VIII haven't made a 1.130 bhp model but they developd a racetrack version of the well known rally Evo X.
Things like the lid of the trunk, the hood, and the bumpers have been replaced with carbon fibre elements which have a very low weight.
The model was equipped with a set of rims from Enkei RPF-01 which are 18" in diameter and a width of 10.5". The tires are made by Dunlop and are the Direzza model. To taim the AMS Evo X beast, AMS have used a set of calipers with 6 pistons from Stoptech. The suspesion was also improved with a sport suspension kit which give it a more aggressive behavior.
The 4B11 engine of the EVO X was rigurously modified by AMS to an extreme point - only the engline block and the factory pistons were left untouched. The turbo was changed with a unit from Forced Performance, the atomizer an the atomizing ramp were replaced with ultra performant ones. The intercooler was replaced with a larger model and it got a cold air intake kit. To get most power from the engine the AMS tuners have reprogrammed the ECU unit and have succeded in obtaining 385 bhp.
Ams Performance has promised to develop another 2 tuning kits for this engine which will bring an increased power output.
