Winter Car Care(Exterior)

If you live in a climate where you have winters, what do you do to take care of the exterior of your car? What really makes it difficult is not being able to stay outside too long.

This is my first winter where I am really using my car regularly. I prefer suggestions of things I can do myself instead of having to go to a car wash.
